Ministering to the Incarcerated During the Holidays

The Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons are typically the most difficult time of the calendar year for persons who are incarcerated. Separation from loved ones during this time significantly adds to the stress and other difficulties already experienced when living in jail or prison. This webinar speaks to best practices for supporting and ministering to persons who are incarcerated during holiday seasons and offers suggestions for accessing valuable resources.

The Presenters are Deacon Bill Goeke and Chaplain Rosa Guembe. Deacon Goeke recently retired from New Folsom Prison in California after serving as Catholic Chaplain for fourteen years. He is now Detention Ministry Coordinator for the Diocese of Sacramento. Chaplain Guembe served as Catholic Chaplain at California State Prison, Corcoran, and she now serves as Catholic Chaplain and Death Row Chaplain at Central California Women’s Facility in Chowchilla.
