Immigration Detention Ministry

This webinar begins with an overview of the history of immigrant detention systems and facilities in the U.S. followed by an account of the current status of immigrant detention in the U.S. and the major issues, concerns, and conditions. Next, it offers numerous stories and a description of ministering in immigration detention centers on the Mexico-U.S. border.

The presenters are Ashley Feasley and Ofelia de los Santos. Ms. Feasley is Director of Migration Policy and Public Affairs for the USCCB and formerly worked as Director of Advocacy at the Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. (CLINIC). Ms. De los Santos is a retired attorney and currently coordinate and directs Jail Ministry for the Diocese of Brownsville in southern Texas.
