Catholic Imagination for a World Beyond Prison

Play Video

Join CPMC for an important conversation with Dr. Kathryn Getek Soltis, Director of the Center for Peace and Justice Education and an Associate Teaching Professor at Villanova University, and Emily Cortina, Coordinator of Outreach & Formation for Kolbe House Jail Ministry in Chicago, about how our Catholic faith calls us to imagine a world beyond prison. What if we were building a system from scratch –– how would we imagine holding people accountable, being in relationship with people who harm others, and supporting healing in a just and dignified way? Our presenters will invite us to question the inevitability of prison as a necessary component of the criminal legal system and to engage our faith in this important conversation.
