This webinar offers an overview of Catholic correctional ministries in the U.S. and the state of the prison systems in the U.S. It also considers what it might look like for persons involved in correctional ministries to respond to Pope Francis’ directive to go out to the peripheries in order to encounter and accompany those forgotten in a thrown away culture. In addition, the Q&A session addresses various issues connected to correctional ministry.
The presenters are Fr. George Williams, S.J. and Fr. Dustin Feddon. Fr. George is Catholic Chaplain at San Quentin State Prison in California and holds a doctorate in criminology from Northeastern University. An experienced prison chaplain, Fr. Dustin serves as an administer for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and Sacred Heart of Jesus parishes as well as Executive Director of Joseph House in the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee.
