The National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) advocates for the profession of spiritual care and educates, certifies, and supports chaplains, clinical pastoral educators, and all members who continue the healing ministry of Jesus in the name of the Church.
Founded by the Catholic Bishops in 1965 to train, support, and certify those providing pastoral and spiritual care to those in hospitals, senior care, hospice, palliative care, and other health care related settings, the NACC now supports those providing spiritual care in additional settings such as correctional facilities, parishes, and mental health services.
Besides certifying members, NACC offers numerous networking opportunities among its members, as well as educational and training resources.
NACC has professional chaplaincy strategic partnerships with Association of Professional Chaplains, Association for Clinical Pastoral Association, Canadian Association for Spriitual Care, and Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains. It also is leads the Catholic Partners in Pastoral Care initiative.
